Please Note:
  • The person listed as the Supervisor will be the main contact at the university for FLTA Program Staff at IIE. All questions and updates will be sent to the person indicated as the FLTA’s Supervisor.
  • It is CRITICALLY important that the start and end dates you indicate on the application be accurate. ALL immigration documentation, orientation programs and travel arrangements will be based on the START date you indicate. The START date will be considered the date your FLTA must arrive on campus, NOT the start date of classes. PLEASE INDICATE ACCURATE START AND END DATES. Cost-sharing in the form of supplemental monthly stipends, free room and board or reduced-cost housing is welcome.

  • Cost-sharing in the form of tuition and fees waivers is required.

  • Provision of travel grants for your FLTAs to attend other non-Fulbright related activities is appreciated, but not required.

  • Health and Accident Insurance is provided to your FLTA through the Fulbright Program. If you require additional insurance or your institution requires the FLTA hold specific coverage through your carrier, please indicate the cost of that coverage.

  • It is important that the dollar amount of the tuition and fee waivers you are providing is indicated in the application. Estimates of the cost are acceptable. Estimates of the cost of auditing courses are also required.

  • FLTAs are permitted to take more than two courses per semester. This is at the discretion of the institution and the FLTA. However, the Fulbright Program will not provide any funding for tuition or fees.

Profile of your FLTA

If you have any specific age/gender, academic qualifications or other specific skill requirements, please indicate on the application what those requests are. IIE will make every effort to match FLTA qualifications to your requests.

Please indicate in as much detail as possible the tasks and hours per week your FLTA will be expected to dedicate to their duties. Please indicate if the FLTA will be the primary instructor or hold a more traditional assistant role.

The closest international airport and the closest airport to your campus will be used for travel arrangements. Please indicate at which airport it would be most convenient for your FLTA to arrive.
